About the Project
Eneclann were contracted to digitise Church of Ireland and Roman Catholic church records dating from before 1900 for addition to the genealogy website of the Department of Tourism, Culture and Sport,

Eneclann’s Role
Eneclann digtised and indexed over a million records from parish registers: Church of Ireland records for Dublin City, County Carlow and County Kerry and the Roman Catholic records from the Diocese of Cork and Ross (covering Cork City and West Cork).  The records involved dated from as early as 1629.  Over 40,000 pages of original registers were imaged at preservation standard and indexation was completed within four months of award of contract.  Final validation was completed only two months later.

“Eneclann have engaged in these projects in a thorough manner and the resulting work has been widely praised for its quality and accuracy.”  Tadhg O’Shea, Cultural Institutions Unit
