| We
are saddened to inform you of the death of Fionnuala
O'Driscoll.
Finn was one of Kerry Holland's early graduates and
would have been known to many of you as a friend and
colleague.
After qualifying in the late 80s, she moved to the UK
and remained there for 15 years where she worked for
the Corporation of London, Reuters, Natwest and the
the British Medical Association.
In 2003 she returned to Ireland and took up the position
of Senior Records Manager at Eneclann. While at Eneclann,
she managed the largest ever archival disaster recovery
project in Ireland for the Department of Defence, and
in the process she worked with many of the new archival
graduates of 2003 and 2006.
She took early retirement after her first brush with
cancer. Having served her time as an archivist with
distinction, Finn wanted to spend more time with her
family whom she loved deeply.
Finn loved art - she was a talented sculptor, and took
several courses in NCAD. Her sitting room in Cabra was
dotted with terracotta busts, and these portraits showed
her ability to capture the individual character of her
subjects. Most of all, Finn had a real talent for friendship.
She was a good listener and an even better conversationalist.
She remained light-hearted, no matter what the circumstances.
She will be missed by all those who knew her.
