Al Roker of the Today Show on NBC visited Dublin and Moneygall,
Co. Offaly to take a look at Barack Obama’s Irish roots
in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.
While the camera crew was in Dublin’s Pearse Street
Library they filmed Eneclann’s Fiona Fitzsimons from
Eneclann. Although Fiona had no idea that Obama had Irish
roots when he first stood as presidential candidate, she and
fellow researcher Helen Moss have subsequently traced his
mother’s family back to late seventeeth century Offaly.
Watch NBC’s light-hearted video.
Take a look at the Kearney
family tree as traced back to the 17th century
by Eneclann’s research team.
