Fiona Fitzsimons will be giving a talk Urchins & orphans: tracing records of children in care in Ireland 1840 to 1952. on December 10th at 8pm in the Family History Centre Sarsfield Road Cork (Mormon’s Community Hall)

Fiona Fitzsimons provides a road-map on tracing records for children orphaned or separated from their parents, and subsequently raised in care.
She explains some 19th and 20th Century sources, and what you are likely to find in them.
Drawing on her own research experience, she shares some research short-cuts that may help anyone engaged in a similar search.
